AdMedika Celebrates National Batik Day by Wearing Batik in the Work Environment

Jakarta - In commemoration of National Batik Day, AdMedika participated in the fun of National Batik Day by wearing Batik clothes in Jakarta, Solo, and Klaten offices. (2/10).

A brief review of the history of National Batik Day began when batik was registered for intangible cultural heritage status with the UNESCO office in Jakarta on September 4, 2008.

The effort paid off, on October 2, 2009 at the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Intangible Cultural Heritage held by UNESCO in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Indonesian batik was officially registered as a Humanitarian Heritage of the Great Works of Oral and Intangible Culture at UNESCO. Since then, every October 2 we commemorate as National Batik Day.

With the commemoration of National Batik Day, it is hoped that it can be a reminder for the people of Indonesia and AdMedikans to appreciate batik as a work of the nation's children and a cultural heritage that must be preserved.
